Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) certification on alternative fuel conversion systems and engines

Certification Services International, LLC provides certification on alternative fuel conversion systems and engines through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). We specialize in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Liquid Propane (LPG), Hydrogen and Hythane (Hydrogen and Natural Gas Blends).

Certification

In the United States, under the Clean Air Act, any conversion system/kit that converts a vehicle to operate on an alternative fuel such as natural gas and propane must be certified through the EPA. In California, and many other states that have chosen to adopt California's emissions requirements, these systems must be certified through the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Generally CARB's standards are more stringent than those of the EPA. Engines designed to operate on alternative fuels must also be certified with the EPA or CARB.
